The Top 10 Quarterbacks Right Now.

March 7, 2008 / by stajan.41

Time for a fun game of Top 10 in my personal opinion counting down from 10
10. Vince Young - Tennesee Titans
Without question the best running QB currently playing. Vince can run better than some teams running backs, but there are questions about his throwing abilities and thus he is number 10 instead of in the top 3.
9. Phillip Rivers - San Diego Chargers
He can throw, he can run and apparently he can gut it out through injuries. He took the chargers to their first playoff win in a long time. His failing, he can be too emotional getting into it with both fans and opposing players.
8. David Garrard - Jacksonville Jaguars
According to some he has the best arm in the NFL. Drawbacks are that he plays on a primarily running team and doesn't get many chances to strut his stuff.
7. Derek Anderson - Cleveland Browns
The suprise of the year. Expected to be the backup when in week 1 the starter goes down in comes Mr. Anderson. Not only did he take the Browns to within one win of the playoffs he managed to have the second best season of any quarterback while playing one less game. Unfortunately due to the fact that he only has one year he is at number seven.
6. Eli Manning - New York Giants
Out of nowhere the NY Giants on the back of Eli Manning defeat the perfect Patriots to win the Super Bowl. Great playoff success but horribly inconsitent season lead to number 6 overall.
5. Tony Romo - Dallas Cowboys
Hard throwing with fairly good accuracy, Tony is a good character guy. He led the Cowboys to a first round bye but failed to lead them past the underdog Giants leading to his rating at number 5.
4. Ben Roethlisberger - Pittsburgh Steelers
Big Ben is an amzing leader, can throw fairly well and is an above average runner. He led the Steelers to the Super Bowl in 2006 as a relative unknown. Only drawbacks are that he doesn't stand above the pack in terms of his throwing abilities but he is good enough for number 4.
3. Donovan McNabb - Philadelphia Eagles
Great throwing Quarterback with decent running skills. His talents are in the same league as Peyton and Brady but his lack of results in the past few years keep him below them, his talents keep him above the rest.
2. Peyton Manning - Indianapolis Colts
As a Colts fan it pains me to place peyton anywhere but first but alas. Peyton's stats speak for themselves. He is the best throwing QB in the league. He finally overcame the mantra that he couldn't win the big game by taking the Colts to the Super Bowl in 2007. He is an extremely calm QB rarely getting emotional. Only detraction is he can't run the ball.
1. Tom Brady - New England Patriots
Now usually as a self professed Patriot hater i wouldn't pick Brady as my number 1, but the past season forced my hand. Brady broke the single season touchdown record while leading the Patriots to a 16-0 regular season. Brady is also very calm under fire not usually letting stuff get to him. Only possible weakness was in this years Super Bowl the Giants were able to get inside Brady's head causing him to make some miscues.
Hope you enjoyed my look into the Top 10 QB's right now as i percieve them.
Feel free to argue any one of them as i might be swayed into switching some spots around, provided your argument is good.
